Wix Blog Watermarks: Cover and In-Post Image Checks

A watermark on a blog cover may not appear in the photo inside the post. Begin by identifying where each file is used.

Quick answer and first checks

Wix Blog manages cover and body images separately. Changing one does not imply that the other changed. For manual marks, check each publishing copy; for a central app, check every supported component. Inspect the social sharing image separately.

  • Review cropping in the blog feed
  • Test product images outside this editorial scope

Identify covers and in-post images

In Wix Blog, a cover is managed separately from images in the post body. Updating one does not automatically update the other. Record which file each area uses before editing. Two copies of the same photograph can make it easy to change the wrong file.

This guide covers editorial images. For Wix Stores catalogues, use the separate product-watermark guide. A setting that affects a blog image should not be assumed to affect a product gallery.

A workflow for a small set of images

  1. Keep an untouched original and prepare a separate publishing copy.
  2. Select the image in the Wix Blog post editor and open its image-editing tool. Photo Studio supports manually adding a text watermark.
  3. Avoid placing the mark over a face, product detail or important instructional content.
  4. Check the cover separately, including its crop in the blog list.
  5. Save the changes, confirm publication and open both the list and the post on a phone.

Evaluate Filigrunner for central scope settings

Filigrunner offers scope choices for product and non-product site images. For a blog, verify which components the non-product scope affects on your actual site. Covers, body images, galleries and backgrounds may have different technical structures. Do not assume the whole blog is covered before checking each area.

Common questions

Will the watermark appear in social sharing previews?

A layer shown over the live page may not be part of the image file a social platform fetches. Inspect the actual sharing image separately; do not assume the visible page overlay will be included.

Does every blog image need a watermark?

No. Select photographs you own and want to mark. Adding your mark to licensed third-party media does not transfer ownership to you. Preserve the source and the conditions of use as part of your publishing record.
