Add Watermarks to Wix Product Images: Catalogue Checks

Wix Stores photos may not use the same editing workflow as ordinary page images. Plan the watermark around every place the product appears.

Quick answer and first checks

The Photo Studio method for editing site images does not apply identically to Stores products. Consider preparing a marked copy before upload or reviewing Filigrunner’s supported product scope. Test the card, larger image and variants separately.

Check the Wix Stores catalog workflow

Focus on product listings, detail pages, variant images and mobile crops. Test a representative group of products before extending the settings to the catalog. For a general method comparison, read the Photo Studio and watermark starter guide.

Why product images need a different approach

Store images are repeated across product pages, galleries and category views. A watermark workflow should stay consistent without making the product harder to evaluate.

Manual editing or catalog-wide rules?

For a manual workflow, prepare a marked publishing copy before upload and keep the unmarked original separately. An app layer displayed on the page may leave the source file unchanged. A visible mark on the page therefore does not prove that a downloaded file or social preview carries it.

Try central settings on a small product group first. Check listing cards, detail galleries and variant photos separately. Do not treat an unsupported component as covered simply because another view works.

Choose the right coverage

Decide whether protection should apply only to products, to non-product content, or to a wider image set. Keeping the scope explicit prevents decorative site images from receiving unnecessary marks.

Placement, opacity and repetition

Center, diagonal and repeated patterns each have different tradeoffs. Repeated patterns make cropping harder, while a centered mark can be cleaner. Test opacity against both light and dark product photography.

Protect conversion quality

The product must remain easy to inspect. Do not let a watermark cover important details, labels or texture. Review mobile thumbnails because a mark that looks balanced on desktop can dominate a small screen.

Using Filigrunner for product images

Filigrunner centralizes watermark coverage, placement, opacity and protection settings for Wix sites, which can reduce repetitive editing in growing stores.
