What does a watermark do in Wix?
A watermark makes ownership or brand context visible on an image. It can discourage casual reuse, but it does not make screenshots or copying technically impossible. For stronger deterrence, combine a watermark with sensible image sizing and right-click protection.
Manual watermarking with Wix Photo Studio
Photo Studio can add a text watermark to individual site photos. This is not the same workflow as the Wix Stores product editor.
- Open the image’s editing options in Photo Studio.
- Add your brand or ownership text.
- Adjust size, position and opacity for that photo.
- Save and inspect the mobile crop.
When should watermarking be centralized?
If you publish many product or content images, centralized controls reduce repetitive work. A single place for opacity, size, placement, repeat pattern and coverage makes new images easier to manage consistently.
