Wix Watermark Cropped on Mobile: Placement Checks

A phone can show a different crop of the photograph, leaving a corner watermark outside the visible area. Separate image cropping from watermark placement first.

Quick answer and first checks

Compare the same photo in a product card and its larger view. A mark lost through cropping may not be fixed by reducing its size alone. Try placement and spacing at different ratios while keeping product details visible.

  • Compare card and full-image ratios
  • Assess cropping separately from scaling
  • Recheck portrait and landscape mobile views

This guide addresses a real problem rather than listing features. Test the steps in your own Wix editor and published website; interface options may change over time.

01

Cropping and scaling are different

If mobile cards use cover behaviour, the photo may be cropped at the edges to fill its frame. A watermark in the lower-right corner can be cut off with that area. First compare it with an alternative mobile layout showing the full image.

02

Compare centred and corner placement

A large logo may distract from the main product information in the centre of the image. However, a small corner mark can disappear when cropped on mobile. Test three different screen sizes to plan where the mark remains visible.

03

Why does repeat spacing change?

A repeat pattern that looks balanced on desktop can become too dense in a small product card. Recheck spacing when reducing watermark size. More repetition does not always mean better protection: the product's colour, pattern and important details must remain distinguishable.

04

Test on an actual phone

The editor's mobile preview is a useful starting point, but should not be the only test. Open the published page on a small phone, a large phone and, where possible, a different browser. Observe images that change with variant selection and gallery swiping.

05

Maintain mobile performance

A small CSS display width on mobile does not mean a 1600-pixel photo is always required. With suitable srcset and sizes attributes, the browser can choose the right file. Image width and height information reduces layout movement during loading. Avoid lazy-loading images visible in the initial viewport.

06

How should you prepare a bug report?

For each example, record the page URL, device width, image aspect ratio and watermark layout tested. If the issue only occurs in the mobile product gallery, share a recording of that component rather than a general page example.
